The Delaware Memorial Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Delaware River, connecting Delaware and New Jersey. It is designated I-295. On the Delaware side of the bridge, I-295 exists as a short expressway connecting the Delaware Turnpike (I-95) to the bridge. I-295 serves to connect I-95 to the southern terminus of the New Jersey Turnpike (NJ 700), providing the main route from points to the south, such as Baltimore and Washington, to the New York metropolitan area.
