Newark-Jersey City Turnpike splits off from NJ 7 just west of the Wittpenn Bridge. There is an exit on the right to turn around and head back east on NJ 7.

The divider ends, and Newark-Jersey City Turnpike runs west as a four-lane undivided road. There are traffic lights at Freeman Drive and the entrance to a United State Postal Service facility.

There are entrances to the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) and I-280. Newark-Jersey City Turnpike passes under the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) just north of the split for the eastern and western spurs and just south of exit 15W for I-280.

Coming into Harrison, Newark-Jersey City Turnpike changes names to become Harrison Avenue. There are traffic lights at Bergen Avenue and Sanford Avenue.
