I-790 begins at the interchange of the North-South Arterial Highway (NY 5/NY 8/NY 12) with Oriskany Street West (NY 5A) and Oriskany Street East (NY 5S). It runs north, multiplexed with NY 5/NY 8/NY 12. There is a bridge over the Mohawk River.
