The Belt Parkway begins at the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278). Exit 1 is for 65 Street and 67 Street.

The Belt Parkway runs along the shore through Brooklyn. The Verrazano Bridge (I-278) is visible in the distance. Exit 2 is for 4 Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway. To access the Verrazano Bridge (I-278) from the westbound Belt Parkway, it is necessary to get off at exit 2 and go through the local streets.
