CR 96 is a short north/south route in Babylon connecting to the waterfront along Great South Bay. It begins at a parking lot by a boat channel along the bay and runs north as Bergen Avenue, a two-lane undivided road. At Montauk Highway (NY 27A), it widens to four lanes and changes names to become Great East Neck Road. It continues north to Little East Neck Road (NY 109), where it ends. CR 96 is signed in that there is a single route shield on Railroad Avenue (CR 12) at its eastern terminus at CR 96.
