US 7 begins at the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) in Norwalk. The first section is a short expressway with no name. Exit 1 is for Belden Avenue (US 1).

US 7 splits off from the Yankee Expressway (I-84) to become a short expressway. US 202 is multiplexed with US 7 for one exit. At the first exit, exit 11, it splits off to run north one block along White Turkey Road and then turn onto Federal Road.
