Here, there is a very short expressway section of CT 17 with no name that runs for a few blocks. Exit 21A is for Main Street Extension.

The expressway ends at CT 9. Bear right for exit 21B to go south or bear left to go north. CT 17 is multiplexed with CT 9 for a couple of exits here.

CT 17 is routed along the CT 9 expressway until exit 16.
CT 17 splits off from CT 9. After one block, there is a traffic light at Main Street (CT 66). Turn left to go west. Turn right to go east and to stay on CT 17.
