I-391 is a short expressway connecting I-91 to the downtown area of Holyoke. It begins at the point where I-91 curves to the west to cross the Connecticut River. I-391 runs north through Chicopee. It crosses the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), but there is no interchange. After a few miles, it crosses the Connecticut River into Holyoke and ends a few blocks away from US 202. There is no direct connection between the two routes at the northern terminus of I-391. Motorists wishing to reach US 202 must travel a few blocks on Resnic Boulevard.
