MD 312 is a north/south route on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The first section, known as Downes Station Road, extends about a mile from Shore Highway (MD 404) to Ridgely Road (MD 480). Downes Station Road ends there, and MD 312 is multiplexed with MD 480 to the east along Ridgely Road for about a mile. Then, it turns north onto Central Avenue. Heading out of Ridgely, Central Avenue turns into Oakland Road. MD 312 follows Oakland Road to Baltimore Corner, where it ends at Goldsboro Road (MD 313).
