The Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD 295) merges with Kenilworth Avenue to become a freeway. There is an exit on the right for the John Hanson Highway (US 50) east. The only signage for this exit is on the ramp from the parkway.

The highway passes under Eastern Avenue as it enters the District of Columbia. MD 201 becomes the Anacostia Freeway (DC 295) upon crossing the boundary.
