The Scarborough Connector is a short expressway beginning at exit 2 of I-295 in South Portland and running south for about a mile and a half to US 1 in Scarborough. It also provides a connection to the Maine Turnpike (I-95) via the Maine Turnpike Approach Road (ME 703). The ME 701 designation is signed solely on mileposts.
