These pictures show the old northern terminus of I-295 at exits 67A-B. At the time, I-295 changed designation here to become I-95. There were plans to build a highway called the Somerset Freeway that would have extended from here to a point further north on the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95). This highway was never built due to opposition from people living in the towns through which it would have passed. As a result, there was a gap in I-95. In 2018, a new interchange opened in Bristol, Pennsylvania, allowing I-95 to be rerouted along the Pennsylvania Turnpike and across the Delaware River Bridge to New Jersey, closing the gap. The portion of I-95 north of this interchange has been redesignated I-295.
