These pictures show the Bayonne Bridge as it appeared before construction work began to raise the roadway so that tall ships could pass under the bridge. The original roadway was undivided and had no shoulder.

These pictures show the Bayonne Bridge as it appeared while the construction was in progress. At the time, only half of the new roadway was open. The exit for Kennedy Boulevard (CR 501) was temporarily closed.
