Chambers Street is the southernmost major crosstown street in Manhattan. It is a two-lane undivided road with oversized street name signs at most intersections. It begins as local street at River Terrace. Two blocks to the east, it intersects West Street (NY 9A). Oversized street name signage begins at this point. Chambers Street ends at Centre Street, one block north of the Brooklyn Bridge.
