Jackson Avenue begins at Vernon Boulevard and Borden Avenue in Long Island City. There is a traffic light with an oversized street name sign at 50 Avenue. Turn right for access to the Midtown Tunnel (I-495).

There is a traffic light at 21 Street. Straight ahead, Jackson Avenue is NY 25A east. To go west on NY 25A, turn right onto 21 Street. Signage at this intersection is completely absent.
