There is an entrance to the Midtown Tunnel (I-495) on the left.

Van Dam Street passes under the Long Island Expressway (I-495). Immediately thereafter, there is a traffic light with an oversized street name sign at Borden Avenue. Turn left for access to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278) and the Long Island Expressway (I-495) east.
