The Clearview Expressway is the southern approach to the Throgs Neck Bridge. It begins at Hillside Avenue (NY 25) in Queens and ends at the bridge. It connects to the Grand Central Parkway, the Long Island Expressway (I-495), and Northern Boulevard (NY 25A). The were plans to extend the Clearview Expressway south to John F. Kennedy International Airport, but these plans were not carried out. The Throgs Neck Bridge is a suspension bridge over the East River, connecting Queens to the Bronx. On the Bronx side of the bridge, the roadway splits. I-295 continues as the Cross Bronx Expressway, while the Throgs Neck Expressway (I-695) splits off to the northwest and provides a connection to the northbound Bruckner Expressway (I-95). I-295 ends a short distance to the west at the Bruckner Interchange, where it merges it merges into southbound I-95, which is called the Cross Bronx Expressway south of this point.
