I-295 begins at the Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95) and runs east. The section in the Bronx is considered to be an extension of the Cross Bronx Expressway. Exit 11 is for Randall Avenue.

The Throgs Neck Expressway (I-695) merges in from the left. Exit 9 is for Harding Avenue and Pennyfield Avenue. It is the last exit in the Bronx. Immediately after it, there is a cashless tolling gantry.

The Throgs Neck Bridge is a suspension bridge over the East River, connecting the Bronx to Queens.

The Clearview Expressway ends here at a traffic light at Hillside Avenue (NY 25). Hollis Court Boulevard (NY 24) begins straight ahead. The NY 24 designation is not signed along this westernmost segment.
