The ramp onto the Thruway from NY 30 at exit 27 passes through a cashless tolling gantry and then splits. Bear left to go east or right to go west.

The ramp for exit 31 splits after the toll. Bear left to go south on Genesee Street toward NY 5S. Bear right to go north on Genesee Street toward I-790, NY 5, NY 8/NY 12, and the Utica-Rome Expressway (NY 49).

After the toll, the ramp for exit 35 leads into Carrier Circle, a traffic circle with exit numbers along NY 298 that provides access to the Thruway and NY 635.

The ramp onto the Thruway from the Genesee Expressway (I-390) at exit 46 splits. Bear left to go east or right to go west. There is a tandem trailer area on the right just before the split. The cashless tolling gantries in this area are on the Thruway itself, rather than on the ramp.
