The expressway ends after exit 29 at a traffic light. Turn right onto Washington Street to stay on CT 2/CT 32. Turn left for Town Street. Harland Road (CT 169) begins straight ahead.

Westside Boulevard (CT 82) begins on the right at a traffic light. CT 32 splits off from CT 2 here and is multiplexed with CT 82 across the bridge over the Thames River.

The roadway splits into a pair of one-way streets as Washington Street ends. Eastbound traffic follows Chelsea Harbor Drive, while westbound traffic follows Water Street.

In the vicinity of Foxwoods, Norwich-Westerly Road widens to four lanes and becomes an expressway. There is an exit for Foxwoods Boulevard (SR 680), Fox Tower Drive, and Lake of Isles Drive.
