MA 3 splits off from the Southeast Expressway (I-93/US 1) in Braintree. From this point south, it is an expressway called the Pilgrims Highway. Exit 42 is for Burgin Parkway. Exit 41 is for Washington Street. The two exits share a ramp.

Exits 15B-A are for Samoset Street (US 44). The two routes split here, and US 44 follows Samoset Street to the east. The portion of Samoset Street to the west of here is a local street.
