Chambers Street begins at Centre Street just north of the Brooklyn Bridge. It runs west as a two-lane undivided road. There are oversized street name signs at Broadway, Church Street, and West Broadway.

Construction work is currently in progress to rebuild this section of Chambers Street. There is a traffic light at Greenwich Street.
