Skipping east to Bolton, US 6 splits off from US 44 just past the end of I-384. Here, it is known as Hop River Road. The speed limit goes up to 50 MPH. This is one of the few places in the state where the speed limit is so high on a surface road. Signs ask drivers to turn on their headlights at all times.
