Coming into the Village of Cedarhurst, Rockaway Turnpike widens to four lanes. There is a traffic light at Burnside Avenue and West Broadway.

Peninsula Boulevard (CR 2) begins on the right at a traffic light. Bay Boulevard (CR 2A) is to the left and provides access to the Nassau Expressway (NY 878).

The Nassau Expressway (NY 878) merges in from the left at a traffic light as Rockaway Turnpike widens to six lanes. Left turns are prohibited at this intersection.

Rockaway Turnpike runs north as a six-lane undivided road. There are small bridges over a couple of creeks as it enters Queens. At the city line, it becomes Rockaway Boulevard.
