Cross Bronx Expressway, Bruckner Expressway, New England Thruway
Northbound Lower Level Views
Welcome to New York! Coming off the George Washington Bridge, I-95 becomes the Cross Bronx Expressway. The first three exit numbers are signed incorrectly due to aborted attempt at renumbering them a number of years ago. Exit 1A, which is signed as exit 1, is for the Henry Hudson Parkway (NY 9A) and West 178 Street (US 9).

Exit 1B, which is signed as exit 2, is for the Harlem River Drive. It also provides access to Amsterdam Avenue and University Avenue.

Straight ahead, the lanes from the upper and lower levels of the bridge merge together. There is advance signage for exits 1C-D, which are signed before the merge as exit 3 and are for the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87).
